The Celtic Cross is an old, powerful pattern that offers insight and advice.  It is a Tarot spread, and it is a spell for manifesting.  We often move through those mystical stations too quickly.  This class will ask us to slow down and integrate the wisdom of the cards in a daily practice of understanding and creation. 

 

Rather than placing our cards into the Celtic Cross, each class will invite us to explore each position in this pattern and bring our communal wisdom to the exploration of the card that we pull. 

 

We will begin by creating a significator.  A sigil of self to tell the divine that we are present, that we are the subject of the reading.  This class will present symbols and colors found in many decks.  Create a self-portrait made up of shapes, colors and perhaps images.

 

Week by week, over that symbol of self, we will talk about and place that which covers me, that which crosses me… on we go.  The first 7 classes go from a representation of self through the first 6 cards. They are all about the essence of who we are in our world today. 

 

The final 7 classes will build a ladder to an outcome.  Classes 1-4 will show us those cards that enable us to interface with external forces. The following sessions will invoke a guide, and enable us to look at the suits and archetypes that we have invoked.  In our final session, we will turn that spread into a spell. 

 

Not our traditional Communal Wisdom format, but I believe this series will add depth to our continuing Communal Wisdom work.
