Chickory (Chicorium intybus)

Chickory (Chicorium intybus)

The roots of chicory have traditionally been dried, roasted and brewed to make a coffee- like beverage. Those who have actually tried this drink describe it as "awful". Then again, we are coffee snobs.

Chicory is closely related to dandelions and, like dandelions, the young greens are edible cooked and in salads, and make a potent addition to love spells!
